Maarc Ni-Cr Alloy (commonly known as white metal or ceramic alloy) is a non-precious nickel-chromium dental casting alloy. It is widely used in dental laboratories to fabricate crowns, bridges, pontics, and porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) restorations.
Key Composition & Properties
- Beryllium-Free: Safe formulation that reduces health risks for dental technicians during grinding and finishing.
- Melting/Casting: Can be cast using an open flame or standard torch techniques with good fluidity.
- Finish: Offers high burnishability, smooth finishing, and a reliable oxide layer for strong porcelain bonding.
- Reusability: Allows recasting with the addition of approximately 50% fresh metal.
